Fire On The Altar
The Apostle Paul begins Romans 12 with an urging to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice. The question before us now is why Paul would allude to the sacrifices that were under the law.
After all, under the law, sacrifices were presented or set before God at the altar, ready to be offered to him. It is Your bodies - your whole selves; are so expressed because under the law the bodies of beasts were offered in sacrifice.
In this recent message, Ryan shares how the fire on the altar served as a constant reminder of God’s power. It was a gift from heaven. No other source of fire would be acceptable to God. The fire of God resides within us. It purifies – It helps us to live a holy and righteous life before God.
It gives us zeal, passion, and a love for things of God. It helps us to surrender to God’s will for our lives.
