The Man Jesus DIDN’T Heal

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

When the King James boys translated the Bible from Greek and Hebrew into English, there were a few things lost in translation.

Don’t get me wrong. I believe the Bible is the true and holy Word of God and, as such, is untainted by human influence. With that said, there is a richness to these ancient languages that just doesn’t compute to a newer language like English.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 is one of the most prophetically poetic verses in the Bible. It is powerful and touching, but guess what? There’s more to this verse than meets the eye. Check out the word beautiful. The original word used here was kairos, which is a Greek word that literally means “perfect timing.”

With that in mind, let’s look at the amazing book of Acts. While it’s called “The Acts of the Apostles,” I see it as the “Acts of the Holy Spirit.” Check this out:

Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful [perfect timing], to ask alms from those who entered the temple; who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God. Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate [perfect timing] of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him (Acts 3:1-10).

The family of this crippled man sat him at the “Perfect Timing” Gate every day of his life to beg. Every. Single. Day. Do you know that every person in Israel who ever went to offer sacrifices at the Temple had to walk past that man? Every. Single. One. Year after year, there he was—until he wasn’t.

You know it was national news the day that beggar was healed—and he wasn’t healed by Jesus. No, sir! His physical healing—the redemption of matter—came from the Holy Spirit through Peter and John—two ordinary men who were demonstrating the Spirit of Power to the world. Jesus walked past that man dozens and dozens of times and never healed him because it was not kairos.

You have a kairos too and only you know what it is—financial freedom, healing, restoration of family, a ministry, or purpose. Just like that crippled man who got up and danced for joy, your kairos moment will be a testimony to the nations of the power of the Holy Spirit. Now, that’s beautiful!

I Declare in Jesus’ Name…

  • The blood of Jesus and its redemptive power are beautiful. It changes time, space, and matter.

  • The Holy Spirit has dominion of my life. He has permission to heal any event, place, or thing in my life that is under a curse.

  • The curse of death is reversed over my body, my finances, my family, ministry, purpose, and destiny. Jesus has paid for my full redemption.

  • The spirit of infirmity is broken off my body. Jesus died for my healing. His blood is already bringing redemption to my body and mind.

  • I am not a beggar but a child of the Most High God. My redemption draws near!
