Access the Gift of Miracles: 16 Decrees that Unleash Miracle-Working Power
Understanding the Working of Miracles
What God Says
To another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:10 NKJV).
What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it (Acts 4:16 NKJV).
For the man was over forty years old on whom this miracle of healing had been performed (Acts 4:22 NKJV).
And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did (Acts 8:6 NKJV).
And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:28 NKJV).
Today’s Insight
The gift to work miracles is a supernatural grace that is given by God that carries the ability to defy the laws of nature. The word for working in the Greek that is found in 1 Corinthians 12:10 is energema from the root word energeo, which means to be operative, to be at work, or to put forth power. The word for miracles in the Greek is the word dynamis, which means inherent power, power for performing miracles or miraculous power.
Miracles are a bit different from healings. Healings can occur over time, but miracles are usually instantaneous. Miracles are where God creates something out of nothing. Things like new organs being created that did not exist before, deaf ears opening, multiplication of food, or resurrections from the dead would all be considered to fit within the miracle category.
The great news is that because of our inheritance that is found in Jesus we now have access to God’s realm of miracles. He is a miracle worker, and He extends that grace to you and me as inheritors of His kingdom. The gift of faith, which we will discuss next week, works together with the working of miracles. Faith without works is a dead faith! The working of miracles requires action! In order to activate God’s miracle realm, we must act in faith to see it manifest. Let’s start today by decreeing God’s promises over our lives concerning the working of miracles.
Declarations
Mark 16:11-18, Matthew 10:7-8, Acts 10:38, Acts 19:11, Acts 8:6, 1 Corinthians 12:10
“Signs, wonders, and miracles follow me because I believe.”
“Since I am the offspring of a supernatural God, miracles are normal for me in Jesus’ name!”
“I declare that I am being activated in the working of miracles.”
“Extraordinary miracles will be done and are being done through my hands in Jesus’ name!”
“When I see an impossible situation, I run to it knowing that God will bring about a miracle.”
“I declare that I will act in faith anytime I see an impossible situation, knowing that miracles will happen because I serve a God of the impossible!”
Daily Risk
Ask God to show you someone today who needs a miracle. Pray for them, and make a bold decree that the God of miracles is breaking into their situation. Stand believing and see what happens!
Miracles Require Partnership
What God Says
The apostles were performing many miraculous signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers were meeting regularly at the Temple in the area known as Solomon’s Colonnade (Acts 5:12 NLT).
Today’s Insight
Miracles are the power of God on display for all to see. They are signs of His love and power according to Isaiah 55:13. When the Bible speaks of God’s deeds, it can also be translated as God’s miracles. Scripture is full of God’s miracles, but the gift of miracles refers to a supernatural enablement given to God’s children through the partnership of the Holy Spirit. God loves to work miracles through us in response to faith and prayer. Action moves us from theorists to practitioners of the gospel.
The working of miracles in the context of spiritual gifts requires our cooperation as we partner with the Holy Spirit. In order to participate in the working portion, we need to understand and recognize the ways in which God works miracles. Scripture recounts the miraculous partnership between God and Moses. Moses knew he needed intimate knowledge of the ways of God (Exodus 33:13).
In order to recognize the ways of God, we must not put God in a box. In scripture there are various ways Jesus and those He anointed, healed the sick. Oftentimes, we see miracles through the laying on of hands, while others reach out to touch Jesus. Some miracles took place by a spoken word or through prayers of believers from a distance. We also read the creative nature of God that performed a miracle through Peter’s shadow and Paul’s handkerchief.
Declarations
Luke 10:1-2,8-9, Mark 16:15-18, Acts 19:11-12, Acts 12:7-17, Acts 14:8-10
“I am a member of the Body of Christ and I carry the authority of Jesus to perform miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
“The Holy Spirit reveals the way in which the Father wants to perform a miracle in me and through me.”
“Nothing is too hard for God.”
“Impossibilities must bow to the name of Jesus.”
“I am a miracle worker who brings glory to Jesus.”
“The ability to perform miracles is my inheritance as a child of God.”
Daily Risk
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you someone in your life who needs a miracle. Then ask how He wants to partner with you to see this miracle performed. Journal this process and document the details as well as the outcome. Remember, no matter the outcome, we should make this a regular habit in our lives.
Prayer
Holy Spirit, I desire to grow in intimate friendship with You. Help me to know how to glorify Jesus through mighty signs, wonders, and miracles. Reveal my identity as a son/daughter of God.
Miracles Are the Church’s Inheritance
What God Says
“Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly (Acts 4:29-31 NIV).
Today’s Insight
When Christians utilize the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we evolve from gospel theorists to practitioners of the gospel, especially through the working of miracles. The church of Jesus Christ from its very conception carried a mandate to govern the Kingdom of heaven here on earth. As followers of Jesus, we comprise the Body of Christ.
The church is not limited to a church membership or a warm seat in a building. If we are members of the Body of Christ, then we are His hands and feet. Scripture does not describe the Body of Jesus as paralyzed or apathetic. Jesus intentionally chose the words to describe His church in order to convey the mandate believers have been given.
Through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, we as the church have an inheritance to establish the Kingdom of heaven here on earth until the return of Christ. Throughout church history and onward, the working of miracles through the lives of everyday believers has been the most powerful tool in the advancement of God’s Kingdom here on earth. The Bible says the earth is groaning for the sons and daughters of God to be revealed (Romans 8:19). When God’s sons and daughters show up and partner with God, the impossible begins to happen. God desired this co-laboring from the Garden of Eden.
Every miraculous story in scripture and every recorded miracle in church history points to our inheritance as believers in Jesus. When we read about the church gathering to pray for the rescue of fellow believers in prison, Peter was miraculously set free with the help of an angel. The early church raised the dead, healed the sick, and cast out demons by the instruction of Jesus. God always empowers us to obey His instruction, and He sent us the Holy Spirit to give us power to perform miracles. Every violation of the cross must be dealt with according to the authority we’ve been given as believers. Jesus said that the gates of hell would not prevail against His church. Friends, that’s you and me. May you be sent out with the authority and power of Jesus to advance the Kingdom of God through the working of miracles!
Tommy and I burn to live a life that brings glory to Jesus. We longed to live a life like the early church in the scriptures. Then one day we decided to take a risk. We hosted a revival and miracle night and told people to bring the sick and those who were tormented by demons. We said they would encounter Jesus. We took our eyes off of our inadequacy and focused on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. We concluded, if Jesus instructed us, His Spirit will empower us. We saw dozens healed that night. It’s been seven years as I write this, and we are still hosting those meetings around the world. Countless people have received salvation in Jesus, baptisms of the Holy Spirit, and miracles. Will you take a risk that will be the turning point in your life?

When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs (Mark 16:19-20 NLT).
Complete one action step this week that requires you to step out of your comfort zone to demonstrate the gospel through the miraculous. Gather a trusted team or friend and host a night of miracles home group and gather some friends. Invite those who need a miracle. Or host a virtual gathering online, and tell people you will be praying for them to receive a miracle as an online event. Do this with a friend or group. Even Jesus surrounded Himself in a safe community. Tell a trusted spiritual mentor, pastor, or leader about your journey in taking risks. Ask them to pray for you, and welcome them to join you if they can. Give God whatever platform and influence you have to bring Him glory.
Prayer
Holy Spirit, I ask for You to grant me boldness as I step out to be a witness of Jesus. Send me anywhere and to anyone who needs to encounter the gospel. Make me a gospel practitioner today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
