Premature Death Curses: Revoking Bloodline Curses that Shorten Lives
When we began to look at this whole issue of premature death, it is quite amazing to see what scripture says about it.
We have seen that the shedding of innocent blood in our bloodline can grant legal rights to the devil. He will claim this to visit untimely death on us and/or our lineage. We also looked at not receiving communion with reverence and understanding. We saw that dishonoring the prophetic can grant death in an untimely way. We’ve seen that treating God as holy and not common is very important to revoking legal claims of premature death. We saw that unintentionally or on-purpose partnering with demons to gain supernatural power can bring premature death. This is called strange or profane fire in the scriptures. We also became aware that presumption that tests the Lord can open us to premature death.
Again, please know that God is not doing any of this. It is the devil taking advantage of our own rebellion or rebellion in the bloodline to claim legal rights of destruction. However, if we go before the Courts of Heaven and remove these legal claims, we can gain the promise of God for a long and satisfying life. This is the inheritance for us as His covenant people. Let’s look at the last four things that could give the enemy legal rights against us with regard to premature or untimely death.
In the event of Korah in Numbers 16:28-30, we see Moses saying if Korah and those with him died a normal, timely death, then they were not being judged by God. However, if they died a premature and untimely death in an unusual way, then it was the judgment of God.
And Moses said: “By this you shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these works, for I have not done them of my own will. If these men die naturally like all men, or if they are visited by the common fate of all men, then the Lord has not sent me. But if the Lord creates a new thing, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the pit, then you will understand that these men have rejected the Lord.”
The issue that caused Korah and those with him to die prematurely was rebellion against God’s authority. Moses was the delegated authority of the Lord. Their rebellion gave the devil the legal right to kill them prematurely from a New Testament perspective. We are to walk in submission to delegated authority according to Romans 13:1-2. Otherwise, we can have cases against us to visit us with premature death.
Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.
Submission to authority is submission unto God. Resistance to authority is resistance to God. This is what Korah and his company operated in. This gives the devil the right to build cases against us. We should ask the Lord to examine and judge our hearts that we not be guilty of such. We must repent for anything in our bloodline with regard to rebellion against authorities that represent God.
Proverbs 23:13 gives us a warning concerning our children and premature death. We are told that the correcting of our children will preserve them from the legal rights of the devil to take them out prematurely.
Do not withhold correction from a child,
For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.
We are told that if we correct our children, they will not die. Our correcting of our children will remove from them the tendency to operate in a way that the devil can build cases against them. We are doing our children a tremendous favor when we lovingly correct them. We are protecting them from premature death. Please do not buy into the lie of wanting to be your child’s friend, especially in their formative years. Your child doesn’t need a friend; they need parents. When we correct them, we are securing for them a future free from premature death.
In my opinion, one of the biggest claims of the devil to shorten lifespans is the dishonor of father and mother. This is another thing that can bring the curse of a shortened life. When this is walked in, satan makes claims against us. Ephesians 6:1-3 is vehement about this idea and principle.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”
When we honor father and mother, we are securing a long life and success within that life. If there is dishonor toward our parents, satan builds cases to shorten our life. We must repent. Honoring father and mother is not just when we are growing up. Honoring father and mother is a lifetime issue. Even should they be dead, we are to have a heart and words of honor. Of course, there are those situations in which fathers and/or mothers were offensive, hurtful, abusive, or even sexual predators. I know it is hard, but we are to still honor them. Without honor, the devil will build a case against us to kill us. Some would ask, “How can this be done?” The answer is only by the grace of God and understanding the word of God. We see this in the life of Noah and his sons in Genesis 9:20-27.
And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard. Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent. And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. But Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father’s nakedness.
So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him. Then he said:
“Cursed be Canaan;
A servant of servants
He shall be to his brethren.”
And he said:
“Blessed be the Lord,
The God of Shem,
And may Canaan be his servant.
May God enlarge Japheth,
And may he dwell in the tents of Shem;
And may Canaan be his servant.”
If honor was about performance, Noah was not to be honored. However, the one who cursed and spoke evil of his father got cursed. He uncovered his father to his brothers. This resulted in not just a curse on him but on his lineage. Notice that Noah pronounced a curse on Canaan. Ham was the son who uncovered and dishonored authority. Noah proclaimed that his brothers would possess his inheritance. This is what happened when the children of Israel took possession of Canaan and the promised land. This was the result of the curse Noah had set on Ham when he dishonored the position of his father.
The ones who covered and blessed their father even in his failure got blessed. Even though his performance would have seemed to demand dishonor, his position required honor. The two older sons honored the position. This resulted in a blessing on them and their lineage. The younger who uncovered Noah got a curse on him and his lineage. We must honor parents for position even if we can’t honor practice and performance. The fact is that without our parents, we wouldn’t exist in the earth. Our existence is a result of them conceiving and parenting us. This alone demands honor toward them. When this is in place, we are promised long life and success.
The final thought on what can bring a shortened life and premature death is found in Ecclesiastes 7:17. We are told that much wickedness and foolishness can result in us dying early.
Do not be overly wicked,
Nor be foolish:
Why should you die before your time?
This word wicked in the Hebrew is rasha. It means “hostile to God, guilty of sin against God or man, criminal, guilty one, one guilty of a crime.”
Clearly this is speaking of a crime against God and man before the Courts of Heaven. We should learn to stand in the Courts of Heaven and persistently undo accusations against us that would allow early death to occur. We also see that being foolish can contribute to dying before our time. This word foolish in the Hebrew is cakal. It means to be silly. One of the characteristics of a foolish person is found in Ecclesiastes 10:14. We are told that a fool talks a lot.
A fool also multiplies words.
No man knows what is to be;
Who can tell him what will be after him?
If we multiply our words, we are setting in motion the use of those words in the Courts of Heaven. I believe that being very measured in our speech is helpful in securing good outcomes from the Courts of Heaven. We are instructed in Matthew 12:36-37 to be aware of the judgments that can come on us from many words.
But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.
Much foolishness is connected to many words being spoken without thought. The enemy can take these words and use them against us in the Courts of Heaven. Clearly according to what Jesus said, our words will be used to justify or condemn us. This is obviously in a judicial setting. We should repent for the words we have spoken or the words from our bloodline. This will help secure for us the blessing of a long life. The curse of premature death will be eradicated.
As I stand before Your Courts, Lord, I repent for myself and my bloodline of all things that would grant the devil a legal right to land the curse of a shortened life. I desire the promise of God that I will live a long and satisfying life. I therefore repent for myself and my bloodline for all rebellion against God and His delegated authority. I ask that any claim satan is bringing against me be silenced by the speaking blood of Jesus on my behalf. I also repent for myself and my bloodline for any place we haven’t disciplined our children in a righteous manner. Let any curse from our bloodline be revoked and removed that would let our children die prematurely. We choose to bring our children up in the admonition and nurture of the Lord. I also repent for all dishonor toward parents. Your word promises long life and success when we honor parents. I choose to honor my parents as a result of their position if not for their performance. I let them go and forgive them of any insufficiency or inadequacy. I esteem them in my life. Let every curse associated with my life or bloodline connected to parental dishonor now be removed. I also repent for abundance of wickedness and foolishness in my life and/or bloodline. May this be dismissed before You. Don’t allow the devil the right to claim a case to bring premature death. May I guard my mouth and speak right words so that I would not be esteemed as foolish. May any words from my ancestral past be revoked as well. Let every curse be lifted that could bring a shortened life or premature death. I claim a long and satisfying life for myself and my family, in Jesus’ Name, amen.
