What is the Prophetic Gifting?
The prophetic lifestyle is a lifestyle of consecration, obedience, faith, and intimacy with God.
I am a prophet, and I want to see the awakening of the prophetic within you.
Since the days of old and up until this very moment, prophets have been speaking. The prophetic is active and alive in the earth today, and if you are reading this it is because you are drawn to the prophetic. Your heart seeks after the deeper things of God. If you are drawn to the prophetic, it is likely because you are a prophetic person. I know that it is divine destiny that is causing your eyes to fall upon these words. I believe that there is a prophetic spirit within you. If you dare to believe it, you very well may be counted among God’s prophetic people, established and destined by His sovereign will.
Prophetic people are peculiar and powerful, unique and insightful. We are gifted to operate in ways that make the skeptics believers and the believers doers. We do not always quite fit in, yet we can be found most often where God needs us to be—meeting divine appointments.
As one of God’s anointed oracles, I, as a prophet, speak words of hope and life. I declare light in dark places, speak freedom over the oppressed, and sometimes witness the future before it unfolds. Prophets are the keepers of the secrets of God and the stewards of His mysteries. Where others see defeat, I see destiny. What others overlook, I understand. The prophetic anointing is in-your-face, strange, and at times uncomfortable. At the same time, I am God’s statement piece, His purposeful art, and an expression of His heart.
Now you may be asking, “But Prophet Rob, how do I really know you are talking about me? How do I know if I am actually called to the prophetic?”
Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives—especially the ability to prophesy (1 Corinthians 14:1).
Every Spirit-filled follower of Jesus can prophesy and walks in some level of the prophetic, whether they realize it or not. Prophecy can be as simple as giving a word of encouragement in the form of a Bible verse. The prophetic doesn’t have to be complicated, and it shouldn’t be spooky.
But one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them. A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally, but one who speaks a word of prophecy strengthens the entire church (1 Corinthians 14:3-4).
I pray that you soon learn to yield your life into the hand of God and what He wants to share through you. It’s time to add your voice to the sound coming from heaven that is speaking God’s message of love for mankind.
Throughout my years of prophetic ministry, I have learned many lessons and witnessed countless miracles. The Lord has taught me, through pain and process, keys to developing and operating in the prophetic. And now, I want to share those keys with you.
I believe everyone is able to flow in the prophetic in some way, shape, or form. If you sense that pull into the prophetic ministry, then follow it through. Connect and sit under a prophetic ministry in order for you to learn and grow. When you submit yourself to someone (such as a pastor, church leader, spiritual father/mother) whom you can glean from, a deepening of the gifts will come. Growth comes through relationship, submission, and accountability.
I believe that destiny has brought you to this very moment. Allow me to share with you my journey. In the time that it takes you to read my book, Discovering and Releasing Your Prophetic Voice, you will have received insight, wisdom, and revelation from over 20 years of prophetic ministry. I know this will accelerate your growth. Through stories and scriptures, I seek to impart to you a portion of my experience and the growth that has taken place in my life. As you learn more about the prophetic, the prophetic will be stirred in you. It’s time to ignite the prophetic sound within you.
