Demonic Trinity: Unmasking Baal, Jezebel, and Leviathan in Our Land
It’s interesting to note that God instructed Jeremiah to pluck up, break down, destroy, and overthrow the opposing kingdoms.
God was fed up with Baal:
Then the Lord stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have appointed you this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant” (Jeremiah 1:9-10).
Further, in Matthew 11:12 we read, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force” (KJV).
Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, and He has never signed a truce with satan. Jesus also said the first sign of a believer is that he or she will cast out demons (see Mark 16:17). So, we can’t address the moral and spiritual failing of our nation without first addressing and dealing with false worship.
The kingdom of heaven has been suffering violence, but the Church in recent history has been too weak and divided to take it with violence by force. That just isn’t a type of warfare modern Christians identify with, and we’ve been shadowboxing an enemy who morphed into something else each time we tried to strike a blow. That’s why it’s important that we unveil the truth about Baal and recognize the ways he manifests in our society.
A Few of the Faces of Baal
Baal is a hermaphrodite god. By that, I mean he is as much a male entity as a female one. When we say Baal, we’re actually referring to Baal in all his male forms, the Queen of Heaven in all of her female forms, and Leviathan. The purpose of all the faces of Baal is to attempt to confuse us into thinking we have to find and fight them all. That’s not the case. We’re after the ruler of the demons, which is Baal (see Matt. 12:24). Once we deal with the root, we will have dealt a blow to all of them.
Satan attempts to counterfeit the Trinity with his unholy trio made up of Baal, which represents false authority and government; Jezebel, who represents the Queen of Heaven and false worship; and Leviathan, who represents a false anointing through pride and sorcery. Here is a depiction of the unholy trio.
While it would be impossible to name every spirit that masquerades as part of this evil trio, the following chart will give you an idea of some of their identities.

Notice that the first entity listed under Baal is the sun god. Further down the list you’ll see Nimrod. Nimrod was mentioned in the Bible (see Gen. 10:8). An extremely evil man, Nimrod became the first manifestation of Baal in the flesh. Nimrod and his wife are the ones who built the tower of Babel. After Nimrod’s death, his wife claimed he ascended to the heavens where he reigned as god in the sun. Thus began the worship of the sun. There have been various forms of sun worship in every society. An example of the worship of the sun god in our society is the Native American Sun Dance.
You’ll also notice Prometheus as one of the faces of Baal. The most prominent statue of Prometheus is at the Rockefeller Center in New York City, where it is seen by viewers of NBC’s Today show. The Rockefeller Plaza also hosts the Radio City Music Hall and the lighting of the Christmas tree. In addition to Prometheus and Atlas, Rockefeller Plaza features over 100 major sculptures, most of which represent idols. This was no accident; Rockefeller knew what he was doing when he gave them tribute.
Another face of Baal is Mithra, the Roman sun god. You may be shocked to know that for centuries before Constantine legalized Christianity, the pagan world celebrated December 25, which is around the time of the winter solstice, in honor of Mithra’s birth. When Constantine legalized Christianity, he outlawed almost anything Jewish, like Passover. Instead, he attempted to Christianize the pagan holidays. Thus, we celebrate Christmas every year on the day honoring the birth of the Roman sun god.
Do you see how idolatry has been woven into our culture without our being aware of it? Although Constantine’s legalization of Christianity stopped the persecution and torture of Christians, it also captured the Church into the Baal structure.
Queen of Heaven
The Queen of Heaven is the female counterpart of Baal. She represents all forms of moon or sun goddesses. She is the mother of harlots discussed in Revelation 17 and 18:
And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness; and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns. The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a gold cup full of abominations and of the unclean things of her immorality, and on her forehead a name was written, a mystery, “BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH” (Revelation 17:3–5).
I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues; for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. Pay her back even as she has paid, and give back to her double according to her deeds; in the cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her. To the degree that she glorified herself and lived sensuously, to the same degree give her torment and mourning; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as a queen and I am not a widow, and will never see mourning’” (Revelation 18:4–7).
One of the faces of the Queen of Heaven is Minerva. Minerva is represented on the seal of California, and also on top of the capitol building of Maine. These are just two out of hundreds of examples I could give of idols represented in key locations in this nation.
Ishtar
Another face of the Queen of Heaven is Ishtar. Ishtar is the root word from which we get the word “Easter.” Have you ever wondered why, when Jesus was resurrected on Passover, Christians celebrate that event on Sunday with eggs and bunnies? It’s another example of mixing Christianity with idolatry.
Ishtar is a demonic entity, one of the manifestations of the Queen of Heaven. The eggs and bunnies are a pagan practice symbolizing the goddess of fertility. How do you think God feels about the Resurrection of Christ being intermingled with worship to Ishtar, the Queen of Heaven? It’s idolatry.
God has not changed His mind about what He spoke to Moses when He said, “You shall have no other gods before Me.”
In Iraq during the 1930s, an ancient statue of Baal was unearthed. Two stories tall, the idol had the face of a man who wore a crown, the body of a bull (Baal), and wings. This idol wasn’t a reproduction. It is an actual idol that was worshiped for countless years. It was shipped to the United States, where it stands in a prominent position in the Oriental Museum at the University of Chicago.
We traveled to Chicago and divorced Baal in front of this idol.
Europa
You just read in Revelation 17 that the Queen of Heaven, called the “harlot,” was represented riding the back of a beast, which is Baal. Some of the depictions of the Queen of Heaven on the back of Baal represent her bare-breasted; others do not. It’s interesting to note that a woman riding on the back of a bull is the official symbol for Europe. Its symbol, called Europa, is where Europe got its name. Topight is a photo taken of the statue “Abduction of Europa,” located in front of the EU Parliament Building in Strasbourg, France.
Bottom right is a photo of the Euro, the official coin in Europe. Notice that it depicts a bare-breasted woman riding on the back of a bull. We must realize that idolatry is alive and well. The demonic entities that created so much trouble for Israel didn’t die. They are still deceiving men into idolatry today.
There’s so much more than I can talk here. I expound upon these demonic forces—forces that are still at work in the very fabric of our society—in my book, Binding the Strongman over America and the Nations.
