Activate Your Seer Gifting With This Prayer
Just as I believe God is speaking more than we’re hearing (or listening), I believe the Holy Spirit is trying to show us things to come—or show us what the Father is doing—more than we’re seeing.
Praying in tongues can activate our seer eyes to see what He wants us to see in the spirit.
Just like all believers can prophesy according to the will of God, all believers can see in the spirit when God chooses to open their eyes. Seeing is part of the gift of prophecy—it’s just another dimension of the prophetic gift mix. Paul offers revelation on the gifts of the Spirit in First Corinthians 12:7-11:
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to everyone for the common good. To one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. But that one and very same Spirit works all these, dividing to each one individually as He will (MEV).
Any believer can manifest any of the gifts of the Spirit any time God sees fit. His gifts are to bless people, whether saved or lost. We cannot choose to work a miracle, but we can believe in faith to walk in the miracle realm. We cannot choose to interpret tongues, but we can yield to the Holy Spirit if He chooses to give us an interpretation.
Much the same, we cannot force the spirit realm open and take a peek, but we can ask the Lord to open our eyes to show us what He wants us to see and walk with a sensitivity that makes us more aware of what He wants to show us. Praying in tongues opens the eyes of our heart—our spiritual eyes—in conjunction with Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1:18:
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people (NIV).
The Amplified Bible puts it this way:
And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [ flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people).
Praying in tongues invites the Holy Spirit to flood your spiritual eyes with the light—opening them to seer dimensions you haven’t experienced before. Ask the Holy Spirit to open and activate your seer eyes, then pray in tongues consistently with this in mind and watch what happens!
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, I want to see what You are trying to show me. As I pray in tongues, will You open my seer eyes? Will You flood my eyes with Your glorious light so I can receive visual intelligence from Your Spirit?
