Prophetic Dream Drought? 3 Tips For Breaking It!
“And the Lord said to them, ‘Now listen to what I say: “If there were prophets among you, I, the Lord, would reveal myself in visions. I would speak to them in dreams”’” (Numbers 12:6).
Many prophets and prophetic people tell me their dream life dries up from time to time—or that it dried up a long time ago and has never returned.
This can be upsetting, especially if you are used to God sharing profound revelation with you while you sleep. But this reality doesn’t have to be upsetting if you gain understanding as to what is going on. There are three reasons your dream life may have ceased.
First, understand God may be trying to speak to you in a different way. Everyone loves the dream world, but God wants us to be well-versed in His communication vehicles. He doesn’t want us to only hear His still small voice or receive dreams or see visions. He wants us to be able to receive His message in whatever medium He decides to share it. If we master or get too comfortable with one way He speaks, He may start teaching us a new way.
Second, if you are not a good steward of your dreams He may stop sharing with you while you sleep. In other words, if you don’t take the time to write your dreams down, process them with the Holy Spirit to get an accurate interpretation, and apply the revelation the way He leads, why would He talk to you that way? It’s like speaking to someone and having the words go in one ear and out the other.
Third, if you aren’t able to understand what He is saying to you in your dreams despite your best efforts, God may switch the mode of communication to another format until you gain more skill in interpretation because He really wants you to get the message. That’s how much He loves you. Finally, you may have had some trauma in your soul that is preventing you from receiving the dreams of God. In this case, you may need inner healing or deliverance. Ask God why your dream life has dried up.

Father, in the name of Jesus, will You show me the root of my sparse dream life? Help me not to get anxious or upset because I am not receiving nocturnal revelation. Please show me what You are doing or what the enemy is doing so I can respond appropriately to the dream drought.
