Break Demonic Curses With This Prayer
Proverbs 26:2 promises, “Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight.”
Although Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law, we can open the door to word curses and evil decrees through sheer disobedience and unrepentant sin.
A curse is a prayer or invocation for harm or injury to come upon one, sometimes in the form of imprecatory prayers—prayers David lifted up to God asking Him to deal with his enemies. An evil decree is wicked, fleshly, and demonic. Like curses, evil decrees aim to cause you harm, misfortune, suffering, sorrow, distress, or calamity.
You can break word curses and evil decrees in the name of Jesus. But sometimes you may not discern evil decrees and curses working against you. But the Holy Spirit does. Whether or not you ever know it, the Holy Spirit can break evil decrees and curses against you as you yield your tongue to His utterance.
A decree is a command or an ordinance. An evil decree is an order that carries the force of demonic law. Goliath cursed David by his gods, but David decreed his victory. God’s decree overwhelmed the enemy’s decree and Goliath’s curse backfired on him.
Curses must be broken. Evil decrees must also be broken and reversed. Praying in tongues can break evil decrees, revoke their impacts, crush curses, and release blessings into your life. The Holy Spirit can pray the perfect prayer through you to shut down these enemy attacks, which often come through the mouths of people who are jealous of us or who harbor anger, resentment, and unforgiveness toward us.
By comparison, God’s decrees are just and righteous. God’s decrees lead to life and health. God’s decrees lead us into His purposes and prosperity. Evil decrees, also called demonic decrees, work the enemy’s plans and purposes in our life. God’s decrees are congruent with His nature to give us life in abundance, to the full, until it overflows. Evil decrees are congruent with the enemy’s nature to steal, kill, and destroy. Evil decrees release evil spirits to enforce the enemy’s will in your life. When you pray in tongues, you may be reversing the curses and revoking the decrees.
We see evil decrees throughout the pages of the Bible. Pharaoh decreeing all the male babies be drowned in the water was over fear of losing power. “Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, ‘You must cast every son that is born into the river, and you must preserve every daughter’s life’” (Exod. 1:22 MEV).
This was a mass slaughter. There were 600,000 men in Egypt, which would lead me to believe there were at least 600,000 women and hundreds of thousands of babies sacrificed to Leviathan in the Nile River during Pharaoh’s reign. King Nebuchadnezzar issued a decree that led Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego into the fiery furnace because people were jealous (see Dan. 3:8-18).
Businesses have failed because of curses and evil decrees. Dreams have been destroyed because of curses and evil decrees. Relationships have failed, finances have collapsed, health has been destroyed, and minds have been tormented because of curses and evil decrees. The good news is, the Holy Spirit sees them even when you don’t and can break and reverse them as you pray in tongues.
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, would You teach me to discern curses and evil decrees wreaking havoc on my life? As I pray in tongues, if there be any curses and evil decrees that I am not seeing, would You break and revoke them and set me free from the fruit of these wicked words?
