The Lovesick Heart of God
My dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places on the mountainside, show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely (Song of Songs 2:14).
“Stop feeling that you are of little worth to Me,” says Jesus Christ to you.
Believe Him and do not let what you see on media, in magazines, and on social media play havoc with how you see yourself.
The Old Testament often encourages its readers to “seek his face” (Ps. 105:4) and to “gaze on the beauty of the Lord” (Ps . 27:4). Continue to do this but know that He is also longing to see your face!
He says, “You are My dove, but you are hiding in the clefts of the rock. I long for a deeper and more intimate relationship with you, but you have hidden among the rocks and crannies of the cliff. My dove, you are not visible and have made yourself inaccessible to Me, yet I have longed to see your face and to hear your voice.
“Have you so quickly forgotten how thrilled I am when you speak to Me? Do you not recall how lovely I find your appearance? I know you want to help and please Me, and that is right and good. However, I am talking about how I feel about you. I want you to be where I can hear your voice and see your face; your voice is sweet and your face is lovely.”
