Wake Up! Prophetic Dreams For Discerning God’s Timeline
There are prophetic dreamers, and there are prophetic dreamers—JVs and varsity, amateur and professional.
Gina Gholston is the latter. I jokingly told her once, “You don’t dream dreams, Gina. You dream books.” This is an obvious exaggeration. However, the amount of detail in Gina’s dreams, along with her ability to recall it, is amazing—sometimes staggering. She is a true prophet with a very high-level gift of dreaming.
My first exposure to Gina’s dreams was in 2018. Shortly before the Turnaround Conference at the Trump hotel in DC, someone gave me her “America Shall Be Saved” dream. The impact it had on me and all the conference attendees was profound. No one doubted its accuracy. We were blessed to meet Gina shortly after this, and she has since sent us many dreams. Though known for her dreams and gift of prophecy, she is also a very gifted teacher/preacher. Now, it seems, God is demonstrating that she is also a gifted writer.
Gina not only releases prophetic revelation at a high level, but she is also one who models what every spiritual leader should demonstrate, including, of course, for prophets:
They must never stop growing in their gift and in their personal relationship with God.
They must be knowledgeable of the scriptures.
They should intercede and pray over their words, dreams, visions, etc., “carrying” them in intercession.
They should be rightly aligned with apostolic ministry and work closely with them.
They must walk in genuine humility and integrity.
They must demonstrate a servant’s heart, never pride or an entitlement mentality.
I believe the fact that Gina checks off all these boxes is one of the reasons God can trust her with such high-level dreams. The revelation and insights in Gina’s book, Dreams of Awakening, will do for the body of Christ what the prophetic ministries of Zechariah and Haggai did for those who rebuilt the temple in Jerusalem:
Then the prophets, Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied unto the Jews that were in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, even unto them. Then rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build the house of God which is at Jerusalem: and with them were the prophets of God helping them (Ezra 5:1-2 KJV).
And the elders of the Jews were successful in building through the prophecy of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they finished building following the command of the God of Israel and the decree of Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia (Ezra 6:14 NASB).
Apostles and other builders cannot build as effectively without prophets “helping” them. The leaders rebuilding the Temple in Jerusalem “succeeded,” in part, through the prophesying of Haggai and Zechariah. The diversity of gifting Holy Spirit apportions to us is essential if we are to accomplish all He intends.
First Chronicles 12 tells us the tribe of Issachar “helped David in war” (verse 1). They discerned timing and strategy (verse 32). We must know when as well as what, not only in building but also in war. Any good leader knows this. David was a great leader and warrior. He would not have had the success he had, however, without the help of prophetic leaders.
Proverbs 29:18 actually says that without prophetic revelation (chazown) we perish (para). Chazown includes prophecy, dreams, visions—any form of prophetic revelation. Para means to withdraw (from work or other activities); become naked, exposed, or uncovered; be unbridled, unrestrained, or out of control; reject, avoid, or ignore counsel; be unprepared for opportunity; and more. All of these can be the side effects from a lack of prophetic revelation. Simply stated, we cannot fully succeed—indeed, we can experience disaster—without prophetic insight and revelation.
And finally, the word of the Lord creates. Often translated “make” or “produce,” the Hebrew word asah is often used to describe the physical creation performed by God’s words (see Gen. 1:7,16,25,31 and many more). It is also used to describe the power and creative ability of prophecy. In Numbers 23:19, Isaiah 55:11, and Jeremiah 1:12, asah describes God performing, accomplishing, and creating through words spoken by prophets. He said of His words in Isaiah 55:11, in this context spoken by the prophet Isaiah, “So also will be the word that I speak; it does not return to me unfulfilled. My word performs My purpose and fulfills the mission I sent it out to accomplish” (TPT). God’s words have assignments on them and, when believed, acted on, and declared, will accomplish those assignments. They are seeds that reproduce at the timing of the Lord (see Matt. 13:3-9, 18-23).
I am grateful for the prophetic! I’m also thankful for the tremendous maturation I am witnessing among the prophets. I thank God for vessels like Gina who have submitted to the Potter’s hands, allowing Him to shape and equip them for these strategic times. Prophets are maturing believers for ministry; they will also help apostles build and govern, evangelists reap the harvest, pastors shepherd and nurture, and teachers teach.
Glean all you can from this seasoned prophetic gift to the Church, Gina Gholston. Pray and decree the dreams and interpretations in Dreams of Awakening. Don’t simply read and be encouraged by them—they are tools! When digested and acted on, they will increase your faith, help you war, and make you successful as you build.
