Abortion’s Dark, Demonic Roots
In the fifteenth century before the birth of Christ, Canaanite parents placed their living infant children on the scorching hot hands of a pagan idol and danced to wild music to drown out the screams of their offspring.
These selected human sacrifices held no personal value to their society except to advance the success of their fellow humans by insuring that the gods would be kind to them. History is filled with people and parents who chose themselves over their children, not because they are really any different than the parents of today, but because their instructors of right and wrong–the parents of the parents–decided to live without the values of absolute right from an absolute Lawgiver.
The vulnerable in any society are always at risk first. When children are a commodity, a possession, even if they are a cherished possession, they will be abused. Nor will a society stop with abusing their children. Just as parents come to look upon their children as objects of ownership, so will a society come to look upon its people as owned and belonging to the state. Without accountability to God, there is no reason for the collective whole not to move its rights ahead, over the rights of the one.
Accountability to God is the real issue and the only hope of solving right and wrong. First, there must be a personal relationship with the true God in the person of Jesus Christ. The Lord of Glory Himself said, ‘‘No one comes unto the Father, but by Me.’’
Historically, social change always follows repentance and revival. Then there comes a time to stand and to say ‘‘no’’ to the ever-changing whims of a people and a nation that has decided that personal pleasure and satisfaction take a higher priority than human life. There is a higher law above the laws of men. When we stop basing our human laws on that higher law and the One who gave it, we have opened the door to the desires of humanity, and the powerful of humanity will become the lawgivers. The weak, the old, and the unborn will not give the laws. You may not agree with my book, The Terminal Option. You may even conclude that the story told in it is impossible. At the very least, you may want to ignore its message.
However, like it or not, this is the final logical conclusion of life under the new lawgivers once they have gained the right to make the laws.
The Terminal Option: A Future Fiction Novel
In a future where selfishness trumps morality, abortion, and euthanasia become the norm.
In this dystopian science fiction novel, John Thomas Rogers casts a frightening vision of America in the next century. Wrestling with real, modern-day moral issues like abortion and fetal rights, population control, and gender roles, this gritty thriller paints a grim picture of a reality that is all too possible—unless something is done to change the status quo.
The year is 2106. Science has achieved its grandest goals: nuclear war is a fear of the past, the cruel diseases of the previous century are nearly forgotten, and world hunger is rapidly disappearing. But beneath the sleek façade of this modern utopia, the ruthlessly efficient abortion and senicide clinics kill off society’s “unwanted”—the unborn, children, and the aged.
In response to these horrors, a rebel, pro-life faction has risen up. These extremists fight for the protection of children and seniors, and for a society governed by a consistent life ethic. Number Seven, the mysterious leader of the Resistance, guides his followers in a desperate challenge of the Grand Council. The story’s heroine, the beautiful young Maria, has dedicated her life to fighting for these precious lives.
This glimpse into our nation’s future will both horrify you and rouse you to action against the real injustice, so present in America today. Join the fight!
