Healing from Crohn's Disease
I was teaching at meetings in Slough, England. At one point I shared the testimony of a man who had been healed of Crohn’s disease. He had visible proof verified by his doctors. As I was sharing this testimony, a woman on the front row was overcome by the presence of the Holy Spirit. She felt fire in her stomach and went down to the floor. Come to find out she wasn’t the one who was sick—it was her sister that had Crohn’s disease. Later, she called her mother and told her what had taken place.
The mother brought the sister with Crohn’s disease, who was an unbeliever, for prayer the following night. I didn’t find out what happened until later, when I received a letter from the sister. Here is a paraphrase of their testimony:
When you were praying you just skipped right by my sister. I wanted to yell, “Randy, come back! You need to be the one to pray for her!” But I felt the Holy Spirit say, “Don’t look to the man. Look to me! Don’t call Randy back.” Then a young teenage girl came up and said, “Is something wrong with you?” I thought to myself, “God, if it is not going to be Randy, let it at least be a pastor or someone on the staff, not a teenage girl!” But I said nothing. The teenage girl began to pray and instantly my sister was healed!”
Do not hear me say that there are not people more anointed than others. Do not hear me say that I believe in the egalitarian view of the church, that everyone is equal in their gifts, callings, or anointing. I believe in the five-fold ministry. But I believe the fivefold ministry is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. If we are gifted and graced with a ministry position, I believe the grace that came to us can come to the people, and we’re to give it away!
