Releasing the Divine Healer Within
We have discovered amazing secrets about biology and belief. God formed you for health — spiritual, emotional, and physical. Because the Divine Healer lives within you, His healing power is always available. We don’t have to just pray or plead for healing from heaven but we need to yield to Him and welcome His miraculous power into every cell, organ, and system in our physical body.
There are many ways God heals. The Bible says healing may come through gifts of healing, the prayer of faith, anointing with oil and deliverance from spirits of infirmity. However the Divine Healer is also in our own heart. Jesus is not only our Savior, He is our Immanuel, meaning “God with us” (see Matt. 1:23). He is with us and He is in us. The riches of the kingdom of God are not far off but within us (see 2 Pet. 1:3; Phil. 4:19; Luke 17:21). The Sciptures say He is Messiah in us, our hope—or confident expectation—of glory (see Col. 1:27). We are God indwelt!
Jason and Mandy, friends of ours, and their five children have encountered the Divine Healer... in their own hearts! They had already learned how to allow Jesus the forgiver to wash out negative emotions in their hearts and to live in the fruit of the Spirit. Living in the peace of God is a lifestyle for the entire family. Now God has opened up a whole new realm of the miraculous for them. They have discovered the power of the Divine Healer within!
One day Jason and Mandy’s 13-year-old daughter Shiri was in agony due to a serious injury to her hand. However, the excruciating pain that completely immobilized Shiri’s thumb and fingers ebbed away as she yielded to the power of the Divine Healer within her own heart. Her four younger brothers also prayed, not by just saying words of prayer, but allowing healing power to flow out toward Shiri. Jesus said in John 7:38 (KJV) “Out of [your] belly shall flow rivers of living water.” Mandy later commented, “I know it was the grace of God for my boys to sit and pray that long!” What an amazing instance of Isaiah 11:6 — “And a little child shall lead them.” As a result of yielding to the Divine Healer, what Shiri’s mother had suspected to be a broken bone was miraculously healed! That evening, only a little soreness remained. Alone in her room, Shiri again yielded to Jesus the healer in her heart. Suddenly she saw a bright flash of light touch her thumb and spread across her hand. All residual soreness disappeared.
Experts estimate that 90 percent of all sickness and disease is emotionally based. We ourselves can prevent God from working in our lives as much as He would like. The children of Israel, we are told, limited what God could do on their behalf because of their complainings and rebellion (see Psalm 78:40-42). In the New Testament, the people of Nazareth had such a bad attitude of dishonor that it minimized what Jesus could do in their town.Offenses buried in our heart can block our healing as well (see Mark 6:1-5). Therefore, when we allow God to deal with our attitudes and issues, healing often manifests automatically. Many times the Lord must prepare our heart before we can receive our physical healing!The Scriptures describe many different ways God heals as well as assuring us that healing is the ‘children’s bread’ (See mark 7:27). Proverbs 4:20-22 states: “Give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. ... Keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” Why should we limit God by refusing to go directly to Him? We should be open to any and all Scriptural means of healing.The Divine Healer is at hand to set you free and heal your body.
